Waking up from the most comfortable, best sleep I’ve had for a few days. I get up from my bed and look around the dorm room. It hasn’t been that long, only a few hours of sleep. At least, that is what my clock says beside my bed. I stand up, stretching my arms. As I do, however, I begin to hear something weird going on outside.
I start to head out of my dorm and out to the courtyard. I see many other people outside watching the skies with terrified looks, Peter being one of them. I join them, turning around and looking straight up to the sky. Immediately, I see another spaceship beside the one I saw earlier. Although, this one seems to be much larger.
I look over to Peter with a worried look. “I don’t like where this is going.” Peter looks over to me and nods, agreeing with me.
Meanwhile, Hank and Hoy stand in front of the Headmaster. They finish removing the sword’s energy. They then toss the sword into the tray that held all the other weapons that users once used. Once they are finished, they are called to the headmaster’s room for a small meeting.
The headmaster looks over at the volunteers lining up next to each other. “I called you all here today because we are going to be destroying Floyd’s home planet. I want you all to be aware that for these next few days we are going to be allowing a chance for you all to go back home. We will be hosting the next Battleworld in two weeks. I hope to see you all here by then.”
The volunteers nod in understanding. Hank and Hoy watch as eventually, the headmaster turns around to look back down to Earth below, seeing the rest of Floyd’s race beginning to freak out over their presence. Hank and Hoy know that it won’t be long before Floyd’s species’ defense force attacks.
The headmaster turns around toward the other volunteers, especially Hank and Hoy. “All right, you are all dismissed for the evening. You can watch the television to see it being wiped out. It will be airing in approximately fourteen hours. After that, we will be opening the pods for you all to go home. Have a wonderful vacation.” All of the volunteers nod to the headmaster before dismissing themselves. “Hank and Hoy, stay right there for a second.”
Hank and Hoy stop themselves, turning back around to the headmaster. “Can you dispose of the weapons for me, please? We won’t need them anymore.” the headmaster asks, turning back around toward the planet below.
“Yes, sir,” Hank declares, starting to head out of the room. Upon leaving, Hank and Hoy look at each other. Hank takes a deep breath. Hoy does the same, in harmony, before starting to head toward the weapon depo.
Walking into the hallway, he looks over to where Hadeon is, where he is talking to a very indescribable species. By the time Hank and Hoy arrive to the hallway leading down to the weapon depo, they are stopped by the pony that Floyd talked to in the medical room. For some reason, he is up and walking around despite being injured.
“Hey, I need to talk to you,” the unicorn demands, preventing him from going into the hallway.
“Not now, we’ve got to dispose of the weapons as demanded by the gra—” The unicorn interrupts Hoy.
“That’s just it, don’t! You got to give Floyd the sword. I know why it didn’t wo—” Hank pushes him over to the side.
“Please stop, we don’t have time for this.”
The unicorn watches as Hank and Hoy walk forward a few feet before getting stopped by a magical field. Hank attempts to smash his way through it, but fails. “What the . . .” Hoy turns his head around toward the unicorn behind them. He then motions for Hank to turn around as well.
Looking down at the unicorn, they see his horn glowing. “Don’t . . . I know you believe in Floyd just as I do, so you’ve got to listen to what I have to say,” the unicorn declares.
“Are you mad? You are going to get us killed!” Hoy says, speaking not so loudly that any other creature can hear.
“I know! But listen, you are the only one who can save the rest of us. Floyd can’t do it by himself. Which is why he needs you to give him the power to fight back.” Hank and Hoy look at each other for a moment.
“There is nothing we can do. They listen to us in our sleep, they listen to us while we are awake,” Hank says.
“I feel like you are not sharing information for the rest of the robed creatures . . .” Hank and Hoy glance at each other before starting to walk forward toward the unicorn. They are walking up to him in a threatening manner, although, the unicorn starts to back up from them.
“Wait, what are you doing?!” the unicorn cries, starting to freak out.
“You are under arrest for breaking the code of conduct section 13-C,” Hank blurts out, reaching his arm out toward the unicorn.
“You fuckers! You possessed him!” the unicorn yells, his horn starting to light up. As Hank is about to go in and grab him, the unicorn uses a laser spell, causing Hank and Hoy to get pushed back into a wall as they crack and then break it. The unicorn looks over to see other creatures watching the scene unfold.
The unicorn stares in embarrassment. Although, it’s not long before alarms begin to go off throughout the spaceship. The unicorn sees lights starting to blip red, as well as sirens. The unicorn takes this as a sign to start heading toward the weapon depo. The only problem is that he doesn’t know where it’s located.
Running toward the entrance of the hallway, his back hoof is grabbed by Hank’s hand. Hank and Hoy attempt to pull him back, but the unicorn refuses, using his magic to make Hank release him. Afterward, the unicorn starts to run down the hall, looking for the weapon depo.
When he spots the room, he goes in and slams the door shut behind him. Using his magic, he adds another field to the door to prevent more people from coming inside. Once the unicorn looks around the room, he spots the sword being kept inside a crate. He goes over to it and attempts to take it, only to start feeling pain as he gets close to it.
He backs up from it for a moment before starting to use his magic to carry it. Lifting it up from the crate, he teleports out of the room and back into the hallway. He spots Hank and Hoy around the corner, trying to slam the door open. He immediately starts to run farther down the hallway, heading toward the pods.
Hank and Hoy are close behind him, about to catch up. Right as the unicorn is about to arrive at the pods, he slams into something invisible blocking his path. When sits up to see what he hit, he notices two robed creatures in front of him. They place their clothes back onto their bodies to show themselves more clearly. “Volunteer 34-G, you have broken the rule of conduct. You will surrender and come with us for extermination.”
The unicorn gets back up to his hooves, and shakes his head. “No . . . if you want me to surrender, you’ll have to fight me first.” The unicorn begins to light up his horn. The two Robanians start to reveal magic spells themselves. When the unicorn releases his magic, the two block the magic, preventing themselves from getting harmed by his spell.
As the unicorn runs into the room, they both start to reveal more magic. Right as the unicorn closes the door, the two Robanians blow open the door clean off. Luckily, the unicorn dodges out of the way and casts another magic spell for shielding. The two Robanians start to cast more spells to break through.
Before the unicorn can start working on the computer, he decides to cast more spells of shielding to the open doorway, trying to add as much time as possible for himself. When he finishes, he turns around and starts to activate the pod with coordinates. Although, before the unicorn can place the sword into the pod and set it off, he is cut off by Hank and Hoy slamming him into a wall.
He gets pinged against the wall, with Hank’s arm nearly choking him. Four Robanians walk into the pod computer room and look over at the unicorn. Soon afterward the headmaster comes in as well. The unicorn stares at the headmaster beside the control panel. “You know . . . you have disappointed me, little one. I was hoping you’d risk yourself for your species.”
“I was doing what is right, you bastard!” The unicorn can barely speak, as Hank keeps his hand tightly around his neck.
“Right, well . . . that seemed to be the most retarded choice you could make. Although, that doesn’t mean you were that retarded. You did help us with getting a better idea with this sword. Instead of simply disposing of it normally, it would be nice to see some fireworks. Not many of our passengers have been able to see a show like this one.”
The unicorn’s eyes widen, knowing exactly what he is referring to. The headmaster has the idea to destroy the sword by blowing it up with the pod. As the unicorn is about to use another magic spell, he gets blocked out by the headmaster placing something around his horn. The unicorn looks up at his horn, seeing a device preventing his magic from working.
“I thank you dearly for this idea in mind, which is why I am lending Hank to blow it up.” Hank and Hoy look over to the headmaster.
“You can release him now,” the headmaster claims, and Hank releases the unicorn. He falls to the floor, coughing for air. The unicorn watches as Hank and Hoy walk over to the control panel for the pod. Once the unicorn is capable of speaking again, he speaks a bit harshly.
“Hank, don’t do this. You know very well that if we can get Floyd the sword he can release us from this prison.” Hank looks down at him, taking his finger off the control panel.
“Don’t listen to him; he’s just trying to get you to kill you and your family. I’d prefer if you ignore him,” the headmaster declares.
“Shut up!” the unicorn yells at him. “Hank . . . Hoy . . . if you give Floyd the sword, you’ll be saving more than just your own species, especially in the long term.” The headmaster looks down at the unicorn.
“Won’t you be quiet! Hank does not need to listen to your rambling. Now blow it up, Hank. It’s what you’re destined for.”
Hank and Hoy look between the both of them, not sure who is right and wrong.
“Hank, please!” the unicorn cries.
“Do it, Hank! Your species depends on you!”
Eventually, Hoy looks over to Hank and nods to him, giving confirming for him what he is thinking. Hank nods in return before pressing the button to release the pod from the ship. The pod gets blown out and tossed into space.
“No!!” the unicorn cries, going over to the window where the pod used to be.
The headmaster looks out the window, staring out toward the pod. “Blowing up in 10 . . . 9 . . . 8 . . . 7 . . .” As the headmaster counts down, Hank looks down at the unicorn, who looks back at him and Hoy. He doesn’t speak, but his lips ask, “Why?” Hank stares down at him for a minute before eventually winking at him. The unicorn returns a look of confusion before turning back around to the pod in the distance.
The pod eventually starts to go downward, not blowing up as expected. The headmaster yells, “What?!” Pushing Hank away, he looks down at the control panel and sees the pod starting to head toward Earth, with the self-destruct button not activated. The headmaster starts to look up slowly, with anger.
Before eventually looking over to Hank, he says, “You’ve betrayed us!” The headmaster uses his own magic to pin Hank and Hoy against the wall. “I thought we had an understanding!”
The unicorn stands up on his hooves again. “Ha! You will get it now! You will see us rise against you fuckers!”
The room immediately goes quiet, growing eerie as the headmaster’s head slowly looks over at the unicorn. “You . . .” the headmaster whispers. “YOU!” he yells, the rest of his body increasing in size as it frightens the unicorn. “You’re a manipulative fuck! I will burn you into little ashes and blow the rest of your species to hell!” Afterward, he goes back to normal size and blocks the unicorn’s mouth with a spell.
The headmaster looks back at the other Robanians. “Take him away! Get as much security on board as possible. We are about to go to war.” Two Robanians take the unicorn away, while the other two start to follow the second set of orders. Although, before the headmaster can leave the pod room, he doesn’t look over at Hank, but speaks to him. “And misters Hank and Hoy, I’d like to speak to you both in private.”
Hank and Hoy stand where they are, in fear, as they see the headmaster walk out of the room. They both hope that the unicorn is right, and that Floyd will save them. The only thing that stands in their way is time.
